Patriot Day 2024 Countdown

In the United States, Patriot Day is observed on September 11 each year to honor the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks by Al-Qaeda. President George W. Bush initially declared September 14, 2001, as a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance. A bill introduced by Rep. Vito Fossella on October 25, 2001, with 22 co-sponsors led to the proclamation of September 11, 2002, as the first official Patriot Day, dedicated to mourning and remembrance.
